The ZS 105 is a common model in Ireland and can be found in a few other countries. When the stocks where sold off by MG-Rover's administrators they sold the remaining 105s in the UK.

Most strange. Far be it from DVLA to make a mistake (!), but something's not right there. Perhaps you should contact them directly, try giving them a ring. hahaha, HAHAHAHAAA! Sorry, I just made myself laugh at the thought of ringing the DVLA and getting something sorted. HARRRRRR-HAR-HAHAHA!!!!

Also, have you taken this issue up with the trader who sold you the car? More to the point, did they imply it was a 180?

It's a factory model and as Windy suggests made primarily for the Irish market. I believe it met some insurance cut-off point for them. No doubt after their collapse they sold whatever they had to whoever would buy it.

As others have said. The ZS 105 was available for the Irish, French and Italian markets only.

MG Rover at the time of their collapse built a number of ZS 105's in RHD for Ireland, but they never arrived there as the dealers hadn't paid for them and were then the responsibility of the administrators PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC).

After the collapse, some of the larger MG Rover dealer groups, including SMC, bought large numbers of cars (in batches of hundreds) from the administrators and then sold them on as new. Within those stocks were the ZS 105's that were originally destined for Ireland.

I can remember seeing two or three for sale at SMC in Slough before they changed over to a Ford dealership.

Good that the car came from what was one of the UK's top MG dealers.

Shame you've been on the receiving end...
